Vlasis Bio

A multi-instrumentalist, Vlasis began to play guitar as a teenager and soon added bass, keyboards, drums and percussion to his musical skills.  After writing and performing his original music with high school friends, Vlasis became a founding member and lead guitarist of the Award Winning, Twin Cities Art Rock Band, Blue Canoe.

After a few years, Vlasis also began to perform as a Solo Acoustic Artist.  In 1999,  after a chance meeting with Paul La Roche, Vlasis was asked to perform drums with Brulé at the Ordway Theater, in St. Paul, Minnesota.  This experience led to an invitation to tour with Brule, full time, this time as a guitarist. His guitar can be heard on the popular Brulé album Star People. In addition to performing with Brulé, Vlasis has also recorded with Brulé flautist Nicole La Roche on both the Passion Spirit and Night Tree albums.

In 2004, Vlasis released and toured his first solo CD, Plain Sight.  In 2006 he performed and recorded two albums with One Nation.  In 2007, Vlasis released his second solo CD, White Dog, along with an accompanying tour.

In 2009, Vlasis returned with Brulé and since that time has been preforming wth them on the Native Drum and has now switched to full-time guitar.

Currently, Vlasis is writing new songs for an upcoming 3rd solo cd.
