Bio
Vlasis, hails from Minneapolis, the son of Greek immigrants. He began his musical career playing guitar as a teenager and eventually learning bass, piano and the drums. Within a few years of learning the guitar, Vlasis became an accomplished musician and songwriter with his first full time band, the art rock group Blue Canoe.
An enigmatic performer, Vlasis loves the energy of a live audience and that joy is very evident when watching him perform. His guitar work is electric even when unplugged. Winding out on his Mossman is special to him, but admits that drumming out is still his favorite pastime.
Over the years, Vlasis has performed in front of thousands of fans all over the country as a solo act and with Blue Canoe, as well as the Award Winning Native American band, Brule, Namy winner Arvel Bird and with One Nation. In 2010, Vlasis continues to tour and perform regularly with Brule on a full time basis.
Vlasis has also enjoyed interacting on a smaller stage as a special guest for several public schools, jamming with and inspiring children in special needs classrooms and also for elementary and high school kids.
Vlasis is currently working on his third cd with a scheduled Fall 2010 release along with supporting his most recent release, White Dog, as well as his first cd, Plain Sight.
